Little Punk

6.3.2005

Little PunkIt looks like our friends over at Infantile Clothing have been keeping busy. They've just added three more cute and clever tees for the Playskool set that are all worth checking out. If you have a tyke, that is...

This adorable punk tee tugs at our heartstrings more than the others, so we're recommending it over the others. If you're the type of parent who'd be proud of the fact that your offspring's first words might be "fuck authority", then this shirt is probably for you.

Well, It wouldn't be for you though, it'd be for your kid. I think you get what I'm trying to say. At least I hope you are.

*sigh* This seems like it's been the longest "short week" I've ever had...

  • We've always admired Anil Dash, but seeing him sporting a Goatse tee in the New York Times just made him Preshrunk's "T-Shirt God of the Week". Your plaque is in the mail.
  • An anonymous reader let us know that indie tee shop Crown Farmer recently had some of their designs remixed and sold at Urban Outfitters without their permission. Even tho UO has allegedly pulled the merch from their shelves, they haven't offered any sort of compensation for infringing on Crown Farmer's designs. What's more, Urban Outfitters refuses to discuss the matter any further - which is as mature as plugging one's ears and yelling that you can't hear what's being said.

My Octopi

6.1.2005

My OctopiI didn't realize that it's been close to a month since I last reminded you all exactly how much I love cephalopods. What in the hell is wrong with me? I must be slipping...

This tee's from the aptly named SquidFire, who is a relative newcomer to the t-shirt biz. They've got a great selection of quirky and cool apparel for such a young company. A lot of newbies are really hit or miss with their designs, but SquidFire seems to be right on target.

P.S. If you're of the fairer sex, there's a girly version of the shirt too. Just thought you'd like to know.

SimpleBits

6.1.2005

SimpleBitsHey web design geeks! Dan Cederholm is having a massive summer t-shirt sale. While his name may not be familiar to you, you've probably seen Mr. Cederholm's work. His Blogger template was one of the nicest ones in their recent site redesign and the ESPN search results page will be recognizable to anyone who has spent some time searching out player stats.

Actually, the sale's not that epic. In fact, he's only selling one shirt. But if you take into consideration that it'll only set you back twelve dollars, it's a very nice tee. Hell, it pretty much sells itself at that price...

Harmony Reef

5.31.2005

Harmony ReefThe shipping from Singapore might end up costing you as much as the shirt, but it's worth it for this beautiful specimen from Dive Junkie. They've got plenty of other nice stuff for the diving enthusiast in your life, but this tee is our favorite out of their collection.

Besides, twenty four bucks in Singapore's currency ends up converting out to a little over fourteen dollars American. Honestly, that really isn't that bad. Especially when you consider the fact that you're getting a shirt that almost nobody else in your pocket of the western world owns. Just something to keep in mind, y'know...

Rise And Shine

5.31.2005

Rise And ShineWe just realized that it's been a while since we've done one just for the ladies. Sorry about that. We'd swear that it'll never happen again but we both know we're just going to forget.

You know if Preshrunk were your boyfriend, we totally wouldn't blame you for breaking up with us. Even if the sex is the best you've ever had.

Anyhow, Miele Fresca's line of shirts has a whole bunch of cute stuff - but this tee really caught our eye. Nice, blue and red silhouette work on a yellow shirt. It's very primary colors in a way, but we can assure you that the shirt looks outstanding.

Now if you'll excuse us, we've gotta get back to writing about guys shirts. But we'll call you, okay? No really, we swear...

L.A. Metro

5.28.2005

L.A. MetroThey say nobody walks in L.A. And while that may be nothing more than a half truth in a silly pop song, there sure are plenty of people that lack a car. A lot of those people - myself included - take the bus.

Because I take the bus, I have this kind of love/hate relationship with the L.A. Metro system. It gets me where I need to go, but it often times it ends up making me late. But hey, their logo is elegantly simple. I guess they've got that going for them... So, imagine how surprised I was when I found that they sell a logo tee from their web store. For eleven bucks, no less! If it came in anything bigger than an extra large, I'd be all over it. *shrug* Maybe it's time to start with the walking...

Punk Vs. Disco

5.28.2005

Punk Vs. DiscoI know this shirt may be a bit cost prohibitive to our readers with limited funds, but it's too damn cool to not run. That might just be my inner dance punk talking. *shrug* Who knows?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to cranking LCD Soundsystem and drinking some beers. Man, I love three day weekends...

Update: Some people don't seem to get that the price for this shirt is in Canadian Dollars. While we're sorry if this confused anyone, we ask you to pay better attention to what you're reading. Seriously.

Bamboo Tees, Take 2

5.27.2005

Bamboo Tees, Take 2These tees from Bamboosa may be double the price of the ones we ran yesterday, but their store is quite a bit nicer and they have more available sizes. Also, they won't gouge you on shipping if you live somewhere other than the U.S. So they've got that going for them too.

What's more, Bamboosa was recommended to us by Cool Hunting contributor and aspiring footwear designer Josh Spear. He seems to be in love with the ones that he owns - which is a good enough seal of approval for me. Domo, Mr. Spear!

Update: Morris from Bamboosa writes:

The reason that our shirt costs a lot more than our good friends Bamboo Textile is that our shirt is made in the US and their shirts come from China.

Well, that makes sense. It's also a good thing to know.

Bamboo Tees

5.26.2005

Bamboo TeesBamboo. Is there anything it can't do? Bamboo Textile doesn't seem to think so. I mean, hell, they're making t-shirts out of it. No, really. Bamboo t-shirts.

Before you go and think that they're made out of chunks of bamboo stalk - a la chain mail - they're not. That would look ridiculous. The process used apparently processes the fibers from inside the stalks. It's a neat idea that apparently yields extremely breathable and soft fabric. Since a shirt would only set me back a Hamilton, I think I'm going to have to give it a try. If the tee holds up to the hype, I may have found my new Summer shirt...

Update: Andrew writes:

I would like to point out that if one orders a Bamboo tee, the shipping to anywhere not in the US is about 35 dollars, more than three times the price of the tee. Perhaps if you live across the ocean in an isolated cardboard box in the district of Badgershire or something this might be acceptable, but I live in Canada, and have never seen shipping prices as high as 35 bucks to get packages across the nigh-unpassable 49th parallel. Just thought your Canuckistanian readers might like to know.
Hrmph. That is rather steep. Sorry to all our non U.S. readers!
