I’m pretty sure this is the longest title we’ve ever had on a post. I’m also pretty sure that we haven’t given any love over to David and the gang over at Seibei in a good long while. And that’s sad, because they honestly deserve it.
The truth is that I was sort of waiting on Morrissey Saved My Life before running another shirt from them — but this one is too crazy and weird and left field for me to ignore. Named after the Haruki Murakami story On Meeting the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning, the shirt is basically its own title in wonderfully bubbly kanji over a background of sandwiches. There’s really no other way to describe it, is there?
Okay, so it’s a bit of an odd duck as far as t-shirts go. I’m quite fond of odd ducks tho. Hopefully you are too…

here is an update on progress on Morrissey Saved My Life; I’m actually working on it right now because I think this one is really gonna put us on the map. I’ll be sure to print an extra one up for you!
Oh. Holy. Crap. I so can’t wait for that!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to put Wide To Receive on repeat and quietly weep myself to sleep.
thank you, thank you – your gilded tears will get me over how difficult it is to draw arms, legs, a serpent, and cherry blossoms.
thanks for the tip about seibei. i really like their shirts.
I really like their shirts, too! And we’re both named Joe! COINCIDENCE?!? Not likely…
I should also mention that Murakami has seen this shirt himself; a friend of mine gave one to him in Hawaii and Murakami said that it was the stupidest shirt he had ever seen.
omg if that murakami story is true, that’s really hilarious.
completely true. I’ve been meaning to put a note about it on the product’s page, but a friend of a friend is in the Japanese graduate program at a university in Hawaii, where Murakami is currently a visiting lecturer or something.
well how about making a shirt for murakami (and perhaps the rest of us)that is a straight-up tribute to his short story? a shirt about meeting the 100% perfect girl?
I’m not really into straight-up tributes. I want to at least have something of myself in it.
