Now despite the fact that Kindred is selling a Big Lebowski inspired tee — and I’m a huge Lebowski fan — I’m way more in love with this Army of Darkness influenced design. Don’t tell Walter Sobchack this, but I think fighting an army of deadites with a chainsaw and a shotgun is way more hardcore than always talking about killing dudes in ‘Nam. But that’s just, like, one person’s opinion, man.
Anyhow, there are a whole bunch of awesome references and nods to the movie in the shirt that fans should appreciate. I mean, how could you not give them points for including the Deathcoaster? Of course, baby blue may not be your color if you’re an Army of Darkness fan, so buyer beware. That doesn’t matter for me tho, because I look fucking fantastic in baby blue…

It took me quite a while to figure out what every single new Kindred release refers to… and all I have to show for it is the name of image files that nobody will ever read! Oh well!
Y’know what I really love about this t-shirt company? If you look at the “KDU vs Kindred” t-shirt, the person modeling the shirt is obviously just a man that they photoshopped boobs onto. Love it!
There’s no way these are silk screened is there? They have to be iron-ons, and that sucks.
Tyler: they’re screenprinted. To quote their website, ‘We use an intense process to print our graphics on tees which gives them a soft hand and comfortable wear. Our inks take on some of the shirt color during this process and become less bright to achieve this goal.’ It’s probably a modified version of process printing. They wouldn’t be able to get durable and soft prints (which they claim to have) using heat transfers.
I couldn’t find where I had read about Kindred’s printing process… but now I’ve found it! It was on T-Shirt Island: http://tshirtisland.blogspot.com/2007/07/kindred-is-all-about-lumberjack-paul.html
