🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.I can't quite quantify exactly why I dig it, but there's something about a faceless soldier wielding a bazooka and popping out of a TV that I rather enjoy.

Maybe it's just so aesthetically pleasing that I feel the need to sing its praises. Or maybe I have some sort of predisposition towards this design from years of playing with GI Joe figurines. Whatever the case may be, I like it — and that alone covers my sole prerequisite for running a design here.

Then again, it is from Preshrunk favorite Red Labor — AKA Josh Bertrand and Dave Rau — and they've consistently turned out some pretty sweet designs in the past. It'd only make sense that I'd come back to them eventally...

Anyhow, Dave and Josh's recently launched¹ shop at Iron-On Resistance is full of extremely nice, well designed goodies if the color palette or military design on this shirt isn't really your cup of tea. You will check them out, won't you?

🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.I might feel a tad bit artsy-fartsy and pretentious for loving this Basquiat designed shirt from Gingham/2k, but to be honest I'm not going to get too caught up in it. I know what I like and I'm not going to apologize for it. And if you've read this site long enough, you should really know that by now.

Still, there's just something about Basquiat's take on the Ideal logo that gives me a warm and kind of sticky feeling in my pants. Maybe it's because I have fond memories of playing Mouse Trap for hours on end — I tried so hard to make my setup look just like the one on the box that perhaps the logo managed to burn itself into my subconscious. *shrug* Who's to say, really?

Whatever my reasons, it's only seems fair for me to I balance out the lovely bargain that I posted earlier today with a much more indulgent — not to mention expensive — shirt. I actually didn't plan it this way, honest. It's just sort of how things happened.

P.S. So now that I have a bit more free time, I'm going to try to go back to running at least one shirt a day, Monday thru Friday. Maybe even two a day — like today — if you're really, really lucky...

Sorry it's taken me a couple months to write about your newest shirt. I've kind of been preoccupied with work and women, but it looks like things are finally leveling out — I'm in the process of finding a new job¹ and I went and fell in love with a girl².

Enough about me though... War Swine is fucking spectacular. As always, I'm totally enamored with the wonderful level of detail you put into your work as well as your sparing use of red in an otherwise greyscale shirt. But seeing as how I get so many comments on Ghost Ship whenever I wear it in public, I'm really not that surprised that you're continuing to turn out quality gear.

We've run shirts baiting Canadians before, so it's only fair to play the other side of the spectrum by running this new tee from the renowned international t-shirt designer, Ricardo Stevens del Tres. And just like the "I Would Be Canada Shirt", this one's an instant classic.

I mean, superimposing the seven deadly sins over placenames on a Texas map... That shit is brilliant, yo!

I'm sure this would go over like gangbusters at SXSW. Too bad the shirt isn't getting shipped til the 22nd. *shrug* Maybe next year.

🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.While this pirate tee from Illico is really sweet looking with its non-traditional art and colors and whatnot, I'm not quite sure I can justify the $54 price tag. In fact, I don't think a pirate has ever paid that much for anything. Like ever.

Well, they might pay for some whores or a good bottle of rum after a decent round of plundering. Still, any of the pirates I've ever known — personally, at least — just straight up jack any shit that they might happen to need. That's part of the pirates code, I think. Don't pay for anything you can steal, or something.

So what exactly am I getting at here? Well, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you throw down the cheddar to buy this shirt, then you my friend, are no pirate.

It hurts to hear, I know... But sometimes that sort of thing just needs to be said. *shrug*
