Red Cross Vintage T-Shirt

Vintage Red Cross T-ShirtI’m a guy who’s all about simple, elegant and classic design. Even more so when it comes to logos. This shirt from the American Red Cross tickles all of those dispositions. The classic army green works beautifully alongside the red and white of the logo. Proceeds apparently go to aid American soldiers, which is okay. Do keep in mind that the people affected by the Indian Ocean tsunamis need your money just as much as [if not more than] US troops. So it’d probably be really nice if you could toss some money in the Red Cross’ coffer for disaster relief while you’re there.

    Hello,

I love the vintage Red Cross T’s myself. Just wanted to make your readers aware that proceeds from T-shirt sales go to benefit all areas that the American Red Cross serves, including local and international Disasters, not just U.S. Troops. I beleive you are referring to the Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES) section of the ARC, which helps servicemen get messages or get home following a birth, death or illness in their family. Thanks for your support!

Nice t-shirts but it would be a violation of the Geneve Convention to casually wear them in public:
Convention (I) for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field. Geneva, 12 August 1949.
Chapter IX : Repression of abuses and infractions
    ARTICLE 53
The use by individuals, societies, firms or companies either public or private, other than those entitled thereto under the present Convention, of the emblem or the designation “Red Cross” or “Geneva Cross”, or any sign or designation constituting an imitation thereof, whatever the object of such use, and irrespective of the date of its adoption, shall be prohibited at all times.
