WTF, Playground Of The Stars?!

August 19th, 2006  |  Published in T-Shirts  |  15 Comments

A few weeks after running the wonderfully designed Drop Shadows Not Bombs, I started getting word from folks on how they weren’t getting any word on their shirt. At the time, I dismissed it as the folks involved in producing the shirts trying to play catch up from being linked on BoingBoing and SimpleBits as well as here.

Well, here we are almost five months after the initial flurry of post about the shirt and I’ve only heard two positive bits of feedback on the matter — and both of those are in the comments of the entry here. My recommendation doesn’t come lightly, so when I find out that I send my readers somewhere that doesn’t even bother communicating what’s going on, I get pretty angry with them.

So what the hell is going on gang? Did you get buried under orders? Are you a bunch of shady fucks?

The silence so far speaks volumes to me…

I ordered one at the end of March, sent a stroppey e-mail in May, and it finally arrived in June if I remember right. I guess you’ve just got to hope the guy is slowly getting through the orders.

After about two weeks, I sent an email to ask what was up with my order — I never received payment or shipment notification.

A week later, I sent another email stating that I was refusing payment through Paypal, and only then did they reply and tell me that the shirt had shipped. I got it a few days later.

I still need one of those… I may have to make my own if they dont get it together.

I got mine really quickly. No problems at all.

Mine came after a week or so, but I didn’t hear anything from them in the interim.

I’ve yet to receive any sort of notification or reply to my emails.

No shirt either. It’s been almost two months.

Sepaking of t-shirt rip-offs (as long as the worms are out of the can)… I went on a shirt buying binge June 1, 2006. Ordered three from Globe Clothing Store (www.gcsclothing.com), of which only two were shipped. I emailed them over a half-dozen times, including a PayPal complaint, with no reply or refund. Maybe we should have a “bad sellers” list?

“Sepaking?” Sorry, I’m also on a no-spell-check binge.

I received my shirt about 4-5 weeks after I ordered it. Just got the one e-mail that the order had been processed; nothing about it shipping.

I was getting worried and was wondering if it indeed was a shady deal, but one day the shirt came in the mail.

I got my the day BoingBoing recommended it and got it two days before X-Men: The Last Stand opened in the states.

I ordered mine 6 weeks before i ended up getting it. My friend ordered one a week after, we received them both the same day. No emails were replied to, nothing.

I eventually got mine after a very long wait (it was coming to the UK though), and I had begun a chargeback. It arrived in just enough time to cancel the chargeback. I also assumed it had been BoingBoing fallout, but some sort of email or message on their site saying there would be a delay and that the weren’t a bunch of shady fucks would have been nice!
