A logo tee for a purveyor of coffee on Preshrunk?! Yeah, I know… I feel like such a whore for running this, but I’m kind of in love with Intelligentsia. Both the coffee and the design of their stores make my heart flutter in a way that only Helvetica and Sarah have been able to inspire.

So when I saw this faithful reproduction of their insignia, I felt compelled to run it. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s nondescript enough to let you come up with your own backstory for it. Because who really wants to explain why they’re wearing a shirt for a coffee bar that they’ve never even been to?

Well, I’ve been there… But if you dig this design and happen to live someplace like Atlanta or London, coming up with a plausible excuse can be a bit difficult.

I’ll be honest with you tho, I’m sort of a newbie when it comes to the ways of Intelligentsia. In fact, they’ve had their LA outpost open for almost two years now and I only bothered to head in when I missed a doctor’s appointment near there a couple of weeks ago. And that’s a damn shame — because they could have gotten a lot of money out of me by now if I’d only bought into the hype sooner.

Then again, I’m running their shirt now, aren’t I? Maybe I’m subconsciously trying to make up for lost time…
