I thought it might be nice to take a little format break and offer up a video in place of the normal left floated thumbnail. Why’s that? Well, because the gang at Wire&Twine were cool enough to offer it. What’s more, I actually think that it’s kind of nice to have a peek inside the production process of a shirt. In fact, I kind of wish that more shirt companies would do this sort of thing.
Exploded electronics designs seem to be all the rage as of late — and as a geek, I’m totally fine with that. I don’t know how many walkie talkies and walkmen I purposely broke when I was a kid just so I could take them apart. It wasn’t so much that I had a desire to fix them. Were that the case, I’d have become an electrical engineer. I honestly think I just wanted to see what made them work to begin with. Either way, I left a lot of broken shit in my wake.
Now while I don’t own a Wii just yet, I’m pretty thrilled with this shirt. Maybe that’s because I want one so badly that I’m projecting my desire for it onto this tee. Perhaps I just think it’s a solid design. Then again, it could conceivably be both of those reasons. Who’s to say, really? I don’t know about you — but I’m pretty damn sure that my last name isn’t Freud…

That is so cool! I want it to be like ten times as long, though. It would be really great to see the whole process start to finish. Thanks for posting this.
The Wii is pretty awesome… and Wire and Twine have been coming out with new stuff pretty frequently lately; it looks like they’re really going places! I love that they used music from the Wii itself for their movie. I agree with Joey: it would have been nice to see more of the process, though… like cracking open a remote.
Thanks for the props!
In advance of anyone wondering, I wasn’t aware there was another shirt called a Tii-shirt. Must come up with a better name… Exploded-Isometric-Illustrated-Wii-Remote Shirt?
Any how…
As for a longer video of the t-shirt making process, there’s a bit more of the process shown here:
