Sneak Peek :: Go Ape Shirts

My boy Perk over at Go Ape was nice enough to give me a peek at one of their newest designs, "Bad Day At The Office" — so I thought I'd give you kids a chance to get a gander at it before it goes on sale tomorrow. Hopefully he won't mind all that much... ;)

From what I understand, Go Ape will not only be dropping some new shirts but they'll also be launching a brand new site. And from what I've seen it's a vast improvement over their extremely modest current digs.

Keep your eye on this bunch, gang... They're right on the cusp of being large — I can feel it.

The Gathering Heart

🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.I know some of you might not be into the Jesus and may dismiss this shirt because the figure is a little too Christlike for comfort. Others may balk at the thirty dollar price tag. Well, I say nuts to any and all of you haters — because I totally love this shirt. That's right haters, I just said nuts to you!

I don't know what it is, really. There's just something about the swoopy, sketchy, curvy design — or the fact that it's both limited edition and printed on an inside out tee — that made me fall in love with it.

Well, maybe not love necessarily. But a feeling of deep admiration and respect is involved at the very least.

WTF, Playground Of The Stars?!

A few weeks after running the wonderfully designed Drop Shadows Not Bombs, I started getting word from folks on how they weren't getting any word on their shirt. At the time, I dismissed it as the folks involved in producing the shirts trying to play catch up from being linked on BoingBoing and SimpleBits as well as here.

Well, here we are almost five months after the initial flurry of post about the shirt and I've only heard two positive bits of feedback on the matter — and both of those are in the comments of the entry here. My recommendation doesn't come lightly, so when I find out that I send my readers somewhere that doesn't even bother communicating what's going on, I get pretty angry with them.

So what the hell is going on gang? Did you get buried under orders? Are you a bunch of shady fucks?

The silence so far speaks volumes to me...

The Sale Papers :: 08.15.06

• Our boys at Bedlam Clothing have been blowing out their entire inventory at $10.00 a shirt for damn near the past month — and there's still some great tees left. This Vito & Michael & Sonny & Fredo design springs right to mind.
• I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Threadless was having a back to school sale. So go run and get your share of $10.00 shirts until Monday (08.21).
• Not to be outdone, the gang at Future Relic has also thrown down with a sale on every item in their store. From the look of things, their t-shirts are down to $15.00. Considering the fact that they're damn near $30 regularly, that's not bad at all.
• Let's not forget that Oddica has a sale going on too. If you kick down with the code "tell" at checkout, you get $7 off your order until August 31st. What's more, they actually want you to tell your friends about the code. That's pretty nice of them, isn't it?

Field Trip: American Apparel Store, Second Life

It's been a while since I've had a proper broadband connection around the house — as opposed to ripping off wireless from the neighbors via a boosted WRT54G in client mode — so I decided to check out the much buzzed American Apparel store inside Second Life.

And you know what? I've got to hand it to the gang at AA — the store is actually pretty fucking sweet.

Just like its real world counterparts this virtual outpost is full of some pretty decent goods and a fistful of provocative photos all over the walls. It's also one of the nicer, newbie friendly places to buy clothing in world. Although I'm fairly certain that at least one of my readers could point me in the direction of some decent shops that carry shirts with designs on them, this one is laid out like a store should be.

So if you're one of those alpha geeks who kills way more time in Second Life that they should, you might want to teleport your ass to Lerappa and check it out for yourself.

Koi

Dear Accentuate Clothing,

I sort of hate it when I get all gushy and fawn over a design when I do a post, but this one really deserves it. Now while most of your other shirts seem like something that my My Chemical Romance listening cubicle mate would rock, they're still executed really well — and honestly, that means a lot.

But your Koi shirt. Oh man... That design is a thing of beauty. *swoon*

Heck, it's enough to let those other designs slide... ;) So keep on doing what you do, you kids have got a lot of promise. I look forward to seeing what else you turn out.
