As you've probably noticed, we've started running banner ads on Preshrunk. While we hate ads as much as you do, we're just hoping that we can cover our costs.
And by cover our costs, we mean that Jason's still unemployed and his emergency fund is running low on money. Instead of begging for it however, he's decided to sell off the ad space to the readers — that would be you — for the rest of May as well as the first week of June if the fairly reasonable goal of $500 is met.
Of course nothing's stopping some of y'all from configuring a simple Greasemonkey script to block the ads — but we like to think that the content we churn out is worth something to you at least a few of you.
But what if the goal of $500 isn't met? Well, for every $125 that does manage to find it's way into the kitty, we'll pull the ads from the site for a week.
What's more, we're going to do our damnedest to make sure that we get at least one new post up every day, Monday thru Friday. Maybe if you guys are lucky, Jason will be so moved that we'll be forced to crank out a post or two on the weekends.
As far as we can figure this isn't that bad of a compromise, is it?
P.S. Just to sweeten the pot, I've got $200 in Threadless credits that I'll gladly give away to a randomly selected donor who throws at least a fiver my way. Live in the US and want a subscription to the 12 Club? I'll buy it for you. Would you like two $100 gift certificates? You got it! Would you prefer smaller denominations so you can share and give some to your friends? That's totally cool of you — not to mention, completely doable.
P.P.S. I'd also be willing to part with a few $50 and $20 Threadless gift certificates for a few other randomly selected donors.

Update: It's only been 12 hours and we've almost hit the halfway point! To stay good to my word, I'll drop the banners from the site in a few hours. Thanks to everyone for pitching in so far...

Okay, lets go ahead and balance out that wonderful but costly shirt I ran earlier this week with this lovely and thankfully inexpensive piece of work from Rebecca Hahn.
Now, I've always been the curious sort when it's come to religion. While I hardly consider myself an expert in any of them, I spent a decent amount of time in my early 20's studying over quite a few of the eastern takes. And while I've found that the basic tenets of most religions are rather similar, the real differences come from the stories which are told to reinforce those beliefs.
But before I go off on a tangent about religion and open up a can of worms that I'd rather not, I must admit that some of the tales in the Eastern philosophies intrigued me the most during my studies. Take Ganesh for example. He's a four armed god with a broken tusk on his elephant's head who rides a mouse. Ganesh also happens to be the lord of good fortune and the physical embodiment of the entire cosmos. I don't know about you, but I think that's sort of cool.
Rebecca has done a wonderful and lighthearted take on Ganesh that manages to be both respectful of the Hindu dogma and graceful at the same time. Although the shirt is a very loose interpretation, it does a great job of portraying a Western interpretation of an Eastern deity. Good jorb, yo!

While I know that it probably won't be cool in another 6 months, I've been noticing that there's a growing number of t-shirt companies — and a whole lot of the kids out there for that matter — that are swiftly crawling onto the MySpace.
So I think you know where I'm going with this... Do you guys and gals think that I should set up a profile for Preshrunk? And if I did, would you laugh at me for being a lemming or would you actually add us? Inquiring minds want to know.
Update: Since all of you who have responded so far seem to be down with it, here's our MySpace profile. Now, do any of y'all know how to make it sexy?

You're a sexy beast of a shirt, I'll give you that. But could you be any more expensive? I mean at the current US exchange rate you're over $42.00, shipped. And after looking at that price point, I know that I shall never own you.
The fact that you don't come in any good fatty friendly sizes also makes me weep a few emoesque tears of sorrow — but they're nowhere near as bad as the sobbing fit that my otherwise barren bank account would have if I were to snatch you up like I want to.
It's a shame too... You were one of the first "too much shit going on at once" designs that I really could have fallen in love with. *shrug* It wasn't in the cards, I guess.
If you're rich enough, be my guest — I'm out on this gold digger, kids.
