🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.Despite the fact that bleeding hearts — especially the anatomically correct ones — are sort of played out and too emo for me to want to touch, I still really like this design from Styletax.
Maybe all of the Joy Division I've been listening to lately has softened me up. I mean, I know they're not emo or anything — but I do know a few emo kids who are rather fond of them. And it's not as if I spend my free time associating with emo kids. Oh hell no. I'm just saying, that's all.
Swoopy arrows and flow patterns do a great job of mixing things up a bit. Add to that the fact that it's printed on something other than a black shirt and you've pretty much wiped it out from being too damn cliche. Great job, yo!

I'm curious as to what exactly he is fishing for tho. I mean, unless I'm missing something, there's no water visual waterline. And how does he expect to catch something without anything to bait his hook? Is he waiting for someone to walk by and snag themselves? Could he be that sadistic? Could he be trapped on the sinister looking tower in his own circle of hell? Does he just not know how to fish? Am I putting way too much thought into this? The world may never know.
Okay, so the shirt isn't 100% perfect. But I still love it despite the flaws that only a sad, fat, nerd like Comic Book Guy would pick out. Besides, 98% perfect is good enough for me — and if it isn't for you, then please kindly lower your standards.
The last thing you want to be know as is that guy/girl who thinks they're too good for everything, right?

There's an interesting situation playing out at Threadless — I think this may be the first time a stolen design made it through voting and so on, onto cotton, without being spotted. Here’s the design, supposedly by someone called ‘rocketrobyn’:

BTW, note the perspective being copied from the photo’s odd angle, to the shirt design…
The Threadless design’s submission page has some classic comments:

I heard about this via You Thought We Wouldn’t Notice, a street-design plagiarism blog, where ghostpatrol (one of the stencil artists) posted a blog post about the situation. In the comments there, Jake from Threadless pipes up:

hey, jake here from threadless. i was just made aware of this situation and want to give you all my assurance that we will handle this properly.
the designer will not be paid and the design will either be removed or licensed from the original designer if they are willing.
give us a couple days to sort the details.

The original owners are not willing to license this design to Threadless, and want it removed from the site. Neither artist has yet been contacted by Threadless.

It’s an interesting situation, and so far Threadless is handling it very well as far as I can see — the only people who aren’t are some other graf and stencil artists in the reaction threads, vituperating about Threadless not using psychic powers to detect plagiarism:
i tell you, you aren’t printing any of my subs, i know it as they score way too low to get noticed. but on the off chance that someone rips off a design i’ve done, as blatantly as this…i would definitely seek reparations from threadless and the offending subber. do a background check with the subbers available websites etc.

To clarify — we are not blaming Threadless. They didn’t take the design knowing that it was stolen [if they had done so witch such knowledge, we would be approaching this very differently].
This is the fault of the “designer”, and hopefully this will sort itself out in the next few days. [Who, by the way, has claimed to have done these designs — “This is a t-shirt I designed for Threadless.”]
As yet, either GP nor I have yet been contacted by either the company or “designer” to fix this, but Jake from Threadless has left a very nice comment for us on “You Thought We Wouldn’t Notice”.
The Threadless blog reactions are worth watching if you want to follow the ongoing drama.

Despite taking three extremely tedious years of high school Spanish, I can't quite figure out how to order this exceptional skull and crossbones Mickey shirt from the folks at TresTriges. All I know is that I want one.
Like crazy bad.
And by that, I mean so badly that I'm willing to use BabelFish to translate what I'm pretty sure is the order form. I could be promising them that I'll make them one of these infringealicious beauties and pay them 20.00€ for the privilege for all that I know tho.

🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.Although I've been going off on music related tangents quite a bit in my past few t-shirt related posts, I'd just like to go on record and say that I think The Rolling Stones are one of the most overrated bands on the entire fucking planet.
Well, at least the re-animated zombie touring incarnation of The Rolling Stones are. Seriously, man... Why in the hell do people pay anywhere near the money that they do to watch those corpses lurch around a stage for a couple hours? It's just plain ridiculous.
"Paint It Black" is in my all-time top fifty tho — so I figure I've gotta run this dotted rendition of Jagger's mug from Burnswell on principle at least. Well, principle and the fact that it (as well as everything else they sell) is a measly twelve bucks until Christmas. You kids like affordable, right? There you go then...
