Dear Accentuate Clothing,
I sort of hate it when I get all gushy and fawn over a design when I do a post, but this one really deserves it. Now while most of your other shirts seem like something that my My Chemical Romance listening cubicle mate would rock, they're still executed really well — and honestly, that means a lot.
But your Koi shirt. Oh man... That design is a thing of beauty. *swoon*
Heck, it's enough to let those other designs slide... ;) So keep on doing what you do, you kids have got a lot of promise. I look forward to seeing what else you turn out.
Cheers,
Jason

That's what Blogging.la contributor David Markland wants to know...
On Friday night Dateline NBC aired a story focusing on harrassment charges against the CEO of American Apparel, Dov Charney. NBC says that a number of different employees in different cities contend that Dov was constantly looking for employees to have sex with, and commonly used inappropriate language.
More interesting than the debatable charges against him are the actions and opinions he openly refers to that constantly remind me of quotables from "The People vs. Larry Flynt".
We've thrown a few volleys in Charney's direction in the past, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've done it since we added comments. So what do you kids think — is Dov the new Larry Flynt or not?

Josh from Go Ape here. I'm apparently the next guy in the list of guest posters on tap. Yay for me!
Pat from Owl Movement puts out some really sweet tees — so it was hard to choose which shirt to review, as there are many great designs up right now. One that stuck out the most, to me, was "Dreams" by Samuel Hernandez. Sam lives in Mexico, and he is somewhat of an "all-star" when it comes to online t-shirt design. He has designs printed on several sites that I know of, including a whopping 6 prints on the ever-popular and frequently-reviewed Threadless. In fact, he is the guy responsible for the parrot hairstyles in Exotica and one of my all-time favorites, Hungry Hippo!
I guess I better talk about the shirt that’s being reviewed now, shouldn't I? It's printed on an Olive American Apparel tee, which is one of my favorite colors that they carry. It's just one of those colors that still looks good on you even if you are extremely pale. The design itself has a faded look to it, sort of blurry. In it, a young boy caches a fish that is far bigger than him and a pirate ship is off in the background (I threw that in just for Jason and the other pirate fans). The perfect finishing touch is the title, "dreams," in a nice bit of cursive near the top of the design.
Ok, I’m going to stop talking about the shirt and go wear it now — even though it is still dirty.

While I like a few of the designs on Threadless, I'd never be crazy enough to get one as a tattoo. This dude, on the other hand, is.

So before anyone accuses me of aping Andy at Hide Your Arms, I swear that I've been fucking around with a draft copy of this post for at least the past 36 hours. And were it not for work, my personal life and a Gnarls Barkley show — it probably would have been published long before now.
Okay. Enough excuses already! It's time to shit or get off the pot and actually write something, isn't it?
So perhaps it's just me, but this shirt reminds me of the ads for X-Ray Specs in the back of old issues of Boys' Life and comic books. Between those and the "build your own flying saucer!" plans, I remember being bilked out of at least eight dollars and a few self addressed stamped envelopes.
Oh well... At least the whoopee cushion, joy buzzer and fake dog doo that I bought made up for it.

Olga from the Fabulist weighing in here, on today's super-fancy-special guest post. Woo-hoo! I have been asked by the illustrious Mr. Cosper to go dig up something shirt wonderfulness for you, and here is the dead-sexy treasure I have found: a horse skeleton!
That's right. For you magnificent, fantastic champions of the vast wood of the interweb, I dug up a horse skeleton. Not only that, but it comes with it's very own brief history in silk-screened form. Here (says the horse) is a fantastic rendition of myself and my beloved rider. Ah, those were the days. It was all hay and long gallops, it was.
(Don't get him *started* on when he tried out for the Kentucky Derby! You'll never be able to shut him up.)

Since I've been a busy easily distracted little monkey lately, I've asked some of my internet pals to help out and do some guests posts so there's some actual updates on the site.
Everyone involved has been asked to choose a shirt that they dig instead of going from a list of stuff I love — so things run the risk of being a bit different around here for the next week or two. But at least there'll be updates coming down the pipe on a semi-regular basis.
I pretty much dig everything that I've gotten so far from the folks who I asked to participate — hopefully you will too.

Not that I'm complaining about getting free t-shirts in the mail or anything — but if you're going to send me some loot in a nondescript box, could you at least include a note/business card/cheese danish with your URL scrawled across it? I mean, that'd really help me figure out who I'm supposed to be fawning over and where I'm supposed to link when I write about your wares.
Please don't leave it to me to decipher the UPS label on the box tho. Because if I can't be bothered to post for long stretches of time, do you really think I'm going to want to see if I can find you by googling your name and/or address?
P.S. Just in case you were wondering, the answer to that last question is "no".
P.P.S. The shirts look pretty darn nice. Thanks for sending them along!
P.P.P.S The shirt maker has been identified. A review is forthcoming.

🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.You know, karma's a funny thing...
Well, it's not so much funny as inconvenient when it bites you in the ass. But I'm sure that the people watching the karma happen to the person who deserves it sure think it's pretty darn hilarious.
Take this clever little number from the chaps at Oddica for example. While the dude is totally going "Oh, fuck. I'm going to die here, aren't I?", the tree that's fallen on top of him is giddy as hell. I bet the bird is having a moment over the situation too — even if he is acting all stoic there. Besides, I'm sure somebody's gotta be the level headed one, right?
And while it might make me come off a dick, I'm totally laughing here too. Why? Because it's something really bad that's not happening to me, that's why.
Okay, so I am a dick... But you guys knew that already, didn't you?

🧦This picture didn't survive the wash.If I start to do too many octopus shirts, you guys might start accusing me of getting lazy. Because I can seriously write a post about any old octopus shirt in my fucking sleep. Then again, this little beauty isn't any old octopus shirt, is it?
No sir, it most certainly is not.
Gary from karmasoup — whose wonderful "Ghost Camera" shirt goes on sale at Oddica this Friday I might add — has done a smash up job on the artwork for this one. It has just the right balance of whimsy whilst not going too cartoony for me to love the crap out of it. And hopefully some of y'all love it too. Well, you know, at least enough of you to blow him out of his leftover stock...
